Michael Shayne Bailey

Michael Shayne Bailey was born on September 7,1969 in Grand Junction, CO to Beverly Daniels Hall Bailey and Michael Bruce Bailey.

Mike passed away on October 13, 2021 in Provo UT, surrounded by his wife, 15 of his 18 children, and his three brothers and their spouses.

Mike was a graduate of Monticello High School in 1987, where he was awarded a scholarship in Art to Snow College and was active in Rodeo. However, his plan changed and he went into the Air Force. Mike ranked as an Airman at the time of his discharge.

In 1990, Mike got married and had four amazing boys. He worked at the San Juan County Jail in Monticello until 1992, and was a Deputy Sheriff in San Juan County from 1992 to 1998.

Mike was certified in Forensic, K9 and Crime-Scene Investigation – a job which he loved.

In 2006, Mike met the love of his life, Kim, and eventually married her in 2008, gaining three more children.

Throughout their 15 years together, they helped raise a slew of wayward children that he cherished as his own in his heart.

Mike loved to draw, sculpt, and wood burn. He loved his family, God, and his country fiercely!

Mike is preceded in death by his grandfather Wallace Bailey (Pa), grandmother Arvagene Bailey (Branny), sister Wendy Lee Hall Walker, brother-in-law Timothy Thompson and granddaughter Madalyn Dawn Bailey.

He is survived by his wife Kimberly Bailey of Dove Creek, CO; children Dillion (Deena) Bailey of Cahone, CO; Jarod (Bryhanna) Galyean of Lehi, UT; Cole (Shaina) Baughman of Dove Creek; Colton Bailey of Dove Creek; Case (Mara) Baughman of Marysville, OH; Kiera (Jordan) Baughman of Grand Junction, CO; Gage (Alyssa) Bailey of Dove Creek; Gauge Thompson of Dove Creek; Cole Taber of Dove Creek; CJ Tibbets of Naturita; and Jaydon Bailey of Dove Creek.

He is also survived by grandchildren Viviane Rai Bailey, Paisley Elaine Baughman, Aryha Rose Galyean, Axton Martin Bailey, and Xzavier James Bailey, his mother Beverly Wolford of Dove Creek; father Michael (Julie) Bailey of Monticello, UT; brothers Tyler (Jamy) Bailey of Monticello; Shawn (Natalia) Bailey of Smithville, UT; David (Karen) Bailey of Layton UT; sisters Thea (Paul) Langston of Monticello; Carla Thompson of Dove Creek; Dondi Palmer of Fernley, NV; and many other nieces and nephews, friends and extended family.

Services were October 23, 2021 in Monticello.
