Morgan N. (Jim) Madden

April 3, 1927 ~ April 9, 2016
Morgan  N. (Jim) Madden passed away at home on April 9, 2016 in Blanding, UT. He was born on April 3, 1927 in El Dorado, AR. He spent his early childhood in Louisiana.
With the advent of World War II and three older brothers already serving in the military, Jim left school and joined the Navy at the age of 16.
He honorably served in the pacific theater for 6 ½ years. He was serving on the USS Missouri at the signing of the peace treaty with Japan.
Jim came to Utah in 1954, and met Norma Helquist, they were married on February 5, 1955. Jim dearly loved the Helquist tribe and  they loved him.
Most of his career he worked as a structural iron worker in local 27 in Salt Lake City, UT. They lived in Lehi for nearly 30 years before retiring back to Blanding.
He is survived by his wife, Norma; children Val and Bob Anderson of American Fork, UT, Kelli and Tim Vollweiler of Island Park, ID, Wade and Jeannie Madden of Goshen, UT, Sallie and Duane Lyman of Blanding, UT, Alayna and Kim Nielsen of Vernal, UT, and Rita and Bob Joiner of Arkansas; 20 grandchildren; and 49 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, one sister, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services for Jim were held Saturday, April 23, 2016. Interment followed the services at the Blanding City Cemetery.
