Muriel (Lea) Hurst

July 28, 1937 ~ October 25, 2008

Muriel Lea Hanneman Hurst was born July 28, 1937 in Bend, OR to Edward Theodore and Graigie Mae Crum Hanneman.

Cancer took her from us on October 25, 2008. She was the youngest daughter of four.

Lea married Elmer Delores Hurst on June 11, 1962. They were sealed for all time and eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

They have four children: Val (Nancy), Dian (Phil) Acton, Ross (Tiff), Brian (Myken), and ten grandchildren; three boys and seven girls.

Lea graduated from high school in Madras, OR. She received an associates degree from Central Oregon Community College and then attended Brigham Young University, where she received a Bachelors Degree.

She was an Art teacher for San Juan School District from 1960 to 1963. Lea also worked in the San Juan School District’s Media Center for 18 years before retiring.

Lea and Elmer served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Philadelphia, PA.

Lea is preceded in death by her parents. She leaves behind her loving husband Elmer, their children and grandchildren.

She also leaves behind three sisters, Vivian Ludwig, Jean Larson, and Dorothy Ann Ludwig, along with many nephews and nieces. She will be missed by all those that knew her.
