Robert Tony Vigil

February 7, 1961 ~ April 15, 2013
Robert Tony Vigil passed away peacefully on April 15, 2013 at the age of 52 at the Four Corners Care Center surrounded by family.
Bobby was born on February 7, 1961 in Monticello, UT to Isaac Sr. and Mary (Martinez) Vigil. He was the youngest of seven children.
Bobby spent his life in Monticello. He loved the mountains, lakes, and the Canyonlands areas. He spent time fishing, hunting, and just driving the mountain roads.
He worked for the San Juan County Road Department for 19 years and loved his job and the people he worked with.
He married Atocha Regalado in June, 1989. They had one daughter, Rosa Marie Vigil, on October 10, 1990.
Soon after Rosa was born, they divorced. With the help of his parents, Rosa was raised in Monticello with her dad.
She was the love of Bobby’s life. He loved watching her grow up and was very proud of her. He bragged about her to anyone who would listen.
Bobby was diagnosed with a slow-progressing terminal disease in 1990 that forced early retirement from his job in 2006.
Bobby lost his Dad in 2008 and Mom in 2010. Shortly after, he became unable to care for himself and became a resident at the Four Corners Care Center until his passing. During his stay there he was blessed with the birth of his first and only grandchild, a boy whom he loved dearly.
He enjoyed the activities there and the residents and staff. Simon Alba became his best friend. Bobby was very kind and had a big heart. He never failed to ask about family members who were around.
He is survived by his siblings, Fana (Ray) Arballo, Genevieve (Arnold) Atencio, Belinda (Steven) Nielson, Isaac (Shauna) Vigil, all of Monticello. Also Joe (Marlen) Vigil of Portland, OR, and his daughter, Rosa (Javier) and grandson (Javier Jr.), of Moab and a large extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Anita.
