Susan J Runyan March 9, 1959 ~ October 1, 2026

Susan J Runyan, of Blanding UT, passed away peacefully in SLC UT, late in the evening of October 01, 2026.

Susan Runyan, was born in Monticello, UT on March 9, 1959 to Wendell Palmer and Phyllis Bradford Jones.

She grew up in the sage brush covered desert country of San Juan County. She never lost her love and awe of the canyons, mountains, juniper trees, crows, lizards, rivers, mule deer, and all it encompasses.

She graduated from San Juan High School and soon moved to Hyrum UT in Cache Valley. She continued her education at USU in Logan UT, after falling in love with and then marrying her truck driving, cowboy boyfriend from the Midwest, Max Runyan. They divorced after a few years when he headed to California to put his engineering degree to the test. They did stay in touch and remained good friends.

Sam Cameron and Susan welcomed their beautiful daughter, Mary Wenn Cameron in 1991. Later Susan moved to Blanding with Mary Wenn. In recent years, Susan was blessed with a very special friend, Harold Drake. This last year he was also her caretaker.

Susan was a gifted musician, song writer, and wordsmith. She touched many lives with her smile, her wit and imagination, her singing and her dancing, her writings and her generosity. Susan appreciated inheriting the Jones sense of humor. She gave it credit for us surviving ourselves and life. She had a tender heart and a great love for animals.

Susan was predeceased by her mother and father, brothers, Palmer Drew Jones, and Patrick Weldon Jones and sisters-in-law, Pete (Mary Beth) Ruger Jones, and Mary Lisonbee Jones.

Susan is survived by daughter, Mary Wenn Cameron (Mike Gajeski) of Kennesaw, GA, sisters Wendy J Halbritter (Butch) of Roy UT, Georga J McFarland of Blanding UT, Taunya Jones of Moab UT, Rachelle J Garcia (Miguel) of SLC UT, and Terri J Jensen (Kevin) of Magna UT, brothers Dale Bradford Jones of Prince Frederick MD, James Kumen Jones of Red Lodge MT, Jeffrey Wendell Jones, (Tracy) of Robertson WY, Marvin Blake Jones (Deb) of Salem OR.

Also surviving Susan is a flock of nieces and nephews, a couple of cousin brothers and a variety of street dancer watchers.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Susan’s Life was held on October 12 in Blanding UT.
