Thomas James Chase

June 18, 1939 ~ February 19, 2012
Thomas James Chase was born June 18, 1939 in Marshfield, WI, the son of Charles D. Chase, D.V.M. and Margaret L. (Wheeler) Chase. He passed away on February 19, 2012 at his residence at the age of 72.
On November 10, 1962, Tom married Judith Ann Schmitz in Fond du Lac, WI. The couple then had their marriage sealed for eternity in the Manti Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on November 10, 1977.
Tom loved to study George Armstrong Custer and anything that related to United States history. He played high school and college football. Tom was truly devoted to the Green Bay Packers football team.
Surviving Tom are his wife of 49 years, Judy Chase, of Cortez, CO; his son, Tom Chase Jr., and wife, Marci, of Cortez; his grandchildren, Sierra Christensen of Monticello, UT, Corbin Black and wife, Ariel of Price, UT, Zach Chase of Cortez, CO, Traykon Johnston and wife, Ashley of Moab, UT, and Terill Johnston and wife Jen of Moab, UT.
Tom also leaves behind six great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Charles Evan Chase and wife, Bernice of Las Cruces, NM, Michael Lee Chase and wife, Mary Jo of Grand Junction, CO, Kathryn Wymer and husband, Greg of Bear River, WY, Janie Cantrell and husband, Wayne of Mancelona, MI, Carol Walden and husband, Larry of Chesaning, MI, Connie George also of Chesaning, MI, and James Walter and wife, Linda of Owasso, MI.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Charles D. Chase, D.V.M. and Margaret Walter; by his step-father, Donald Walter; his step-mother, Ruth Jarvis Chase; and by his brothers, Phillip Chase and Donald Walter Jr.

Graveside services were held February 23 at the Monticello City Cemetery. Bishop Bruce Adams conducted.
