Veda Marie Holyoak Pehrson

June 18, 1917 ~ November 16, 2014
Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and aunt was peacfully taken home to reunite with her family and return into the loving arms of her Father in Heaven on November 16, 2014.
Veda was born on June 18, 1917 in Moab, UT to Henry John Holyoak and Hattie Elizabeth Lutz Holyoak. She was the ninth child out of ten children.
Veda lived in Moab up until she met and married H. Earl Pehrson in July, 1947 in the Manti Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She moved to Monticello, which she called home for the rest of her days.
Veda was a lifelong, faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had deep gratitude for serving in many callings both church and civic.
She expressed her love of being a nurse for over 40 years and the many children she helped deliver. She was always willing to go above and beyond that which was required for her job.
She wanted everyone to feel comfortable and taken care of. She was always willing to help family and friends in need. Many would benefit from her love of crocheting and would often be sent home with pot holders after a visit.
You would often find her in the kitchen, cooking and preparing meals for family and friends.
She had many amazing talents and Veda served tirelessly and with all of her heart. Her life was a testimony to us all.
We will miss her loving gentle hands, her sweet little laugh, that would brighten the darkest of days, and the kindness shown to anyone who came in contact with her.
She is survived by her son, Ronald T. (Cheryl) Pehrson and her grandchildren: Natasha (Rylan) Sanchez, Chris (Rachel) Bryan, Michael Johnson, Melonie (Gary) Smith, Brett Pehrson, Michelle (John) Redfield; four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Those who preceded her in death are eight older brothers: Richard LeRoy, Jesse Gilbert, Johnnie Oral, Alvie Eugene, Clarence Alma, Arnel Henry, Glen Arthur, Ray Clayton and her younger sister Ruby Lucille; husband H. Earl Pehrson; daughter Rita Pehrson Bryan and grandson Richard Johnson.
Funeral Services were held Friday, November 21 in Monticello.
