Viola Rae (Raycecona) Kiefer (Ni: Straup)
Rayce Kiefer passed away December 20, 2012 at the Veteran’s Hospital in Grand Junction, CO of stroke.
She is an Army WAAC veteran and served in World War II.
Rayce was born the fourth child, of seven living children, to Royal Ellis Straup and Tranquilla Ann Pederson in Salt Lake City, UT. She is survived by three sisters and one brother. She is also survived by daughter Valorie Anne (Fidel) Martinez, sons Roger Lynn Straup, Steven Michael (Mayumi) Kiefer and Anthony Scott (Michelle) Kiefer. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one great-greatgrand child.
She is preceeded in death by son Kelly Bryan Kiefer.
She doted on her family, especially her grandchildren, her gardening and her animals. She had a very adventurous life, serving her country and her family, and she was also very accepting of her extended families.
Although known for a stubborn streak, she was loyal to her family, church and friends. She will be missed by those who knew her.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 27 at the Eastland LDS chapel. A viewing will begin at 9:30 a.m. and services will follow at 10 a.m. Interment in Mountain View Cemetery in Eastland.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to those who lent their kindness and support at the time of our mother’s death, particularly the special care provide by the doctors, nurses and staff of the Grand Junction Veteran’s Hospital. They would also like to thank Mr. Danny Palmer of San Juan Mortuary for his help in making arrangements.
