Paul Murdock

My name is Paul Murdock, and I am running for Blanding City Council. My wife and I and our three daughters have lived in Blanding for over six years now.  We moved to Blanding when I was hired to be the Assistant Principal of Albert R. Lyman Middle School in 2015. Natalie and I have lived longer in Blanding than we have anywhere else, and it has become our home.  I now work at the district office as the Director of Special Education Programs and my wife teaches Kindergarten at Blanding Elementary.

I am fiscally responsible and will work to utilize taxpayer money for the betterment of our city. There are two main priorities that I have as a candidate. First, with the Bears Ears National Monument decision still pending, I will work to advocate for and protect Blanding City’s watershed on the Blue Mountains. We need the water from the snow and rain that falls on the Blues.

Second, it was discovered that the maximum occupancy of the Blanding Wellness Center is not as high as it should be. This is due to the fire sprinkler system not being adequate.  The Wellness Center is critical to our community for athletics and other community events and celebrations.  I will work with the City Council and city employees to find the best resolution to this issue.

I am running for City Council because I want to give back to a community that has been so welcoming and good to me and my family.  I want to keep Blanding a great place to raise a family. I ask for your vote to represent you on the Blanding City Council.
