The Pen is Mightier: Writing a Revolution exhibit at Monticello Library

The Monticello Public Library and the Monticello America-250 Committee are pleased to announce that an exhibit, titled “The Pen is Mightier: Writing a Revolution,” has arrived and is now on display at the Monticello Library.
The 20 panel traveling exhibit will be displayed at the Library through October 21 and may be viewed during regular library hours Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The written word has the power to spark change, as visitors will learn from “The Pen is Mightier.”
Take the time to “Discover how Revolutionary-era influencers communicated by using printing presses, secret codes, and signals of sound and light” to ignite the changes that created the America we know today.
For added fun, stop by the front desk at the Monticello Library and pick up an interactive “tour guide” listing things to look for while viewing the exhibit.
When you are finished, bring your guide back to the front desk for a good-looking keepsake pen, compliments of the Monticello America-250 crew.
Children who view the exhibit will also receive a mini Liberty Duck and a sweet to eat.
In partnership with the Utah Division of Arts & Museums Traveling Exhibition Program, the “The Pen is Mightier” will be showcased in each of the 29 counties in Utah throughout the year 2026 as a part of the celebration of America’s Semiquincentennial.
The exhibit is brought to you by the Utah Division of Arts and Museums, along with America 250-Utah, and the Monticello America-250 committee.
The exhibit is also sponsored by the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation, and the Utah Department of Cultural and Community Engagement.
