Prize winning 4-H quilt

Twelve 4-H quilts and two rag-quilt flags were entered into the Grayson Country Quilters Fourth of July Quilt Show. 4-H quilters ranged in age from 8 to 12 years old.
Connor Montella, age 8, took first place and received a $50 prize. Connor is the son of Todd and Jeri Montella. He completed his quilt as part of a 4-H Family Club led by his mother, and at a two-day 4-H Quilt Camp held in May. Jeri is also a member of the Grayson Country Quilters.
Second Prize of $25 is awarded to Maggie Black, age 8. Maggie is the daughter of Dr. Curtis and Kristen Black. Her 4-H leader is Jeri Montella.
Third prize of $15 went to Amber Marion, age 11, daughter of Paul and Christine Marion. Her teacher is Grandma Gayle Marion, a 4-H leader and a member of the quilt guild.
All adult quilters are invited to start a 4-H Family Club. All 4-H youth quilters are encouraged to enter their quilts and quilting projects at the San Juan County Fair in August.
