Bears Ears Advisory Committee meets

The BLM and USDA Forest Service to host virtual meeting of the Bears Ears National Monument Advisory Committee 
The Bureau of Land Management Monticello Field Office and U.S. Department of Agriculture Manti-La Sal National Forest will host a virtual public meeting of the Bears Ears National Monument Advisory Committee on September 13, 2022, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a public comment period at 1:30 p.m.
During the meeting, the Committee will discuss and provide input regarding the management of the Bears Ears National Monument, including resource management planning efforts and the identification and discussion of potential issues to consider in those efforts. 
The Bears Ears National Monument Advisory Committee is citizen based, consisting of up to 15 members representing interests in the local community and monument values.
The Bears Ears National Monument is co-managed by the BLM and USDA Forest Service, with traditional and historical guidance of Tribal Nations through the Bears Ears Commission. 
“As the planning process progresses, we look forward to our continued engagement with the Monument Advisory Committee, the Bears Ears Commission, other monument stakeholders and the public,” said BLM Canyon Country District Manager Nicollee Gaddis-Wyatt.
“We are grateful for the thoughtful feedback we received during the last Monument Advisory Committee meeting,” said USDA Forest Service District Ranger Michael Engelhart.
“Local USDA Forest Service and BLM leaders are grateful for the MAC members’ commitment to responsible management of Bears Ears National Monument.”

Depending on the number of people wishing to participate in public comment, the amount of time for individual comments may be limited.
