Royalty selected after annual Miss San Juan pageant

The Miss San Juan pageant was held on Saturday, June 8, 2013. The pageant was a “closed” judged setting.
The new Miss San Juan County royalty is Queen Erin Hurst, first attendant Shaeli Black, second attendant Kaitlin Clark, and third attendant Kayla Frank.
The contestants were judged based on a private interview as well as talent, evening wear and onstage question.
Miss San Juan and her attendants will participate in the Blanding and Monticello City celebrations on July 4th and Pioneer Day.
The Miss San Juan Royalty, along with the Miss San Juan Rodeo Royalty, will reign at the San Juan County Fair in August.
Queen Erin Hurst, a daughter of Stan and Angela Hurst of Blanding, will attend Southern Utah University this fall and major in Public Relations.
Her talent for the competition was a piano solo entitled Prelude I by George Gershwin.
First attendant Shaeli Black is working this summer with intentions to serve an LDS mission this fall. Shaeli is a daughter of Kirk and Heidi Black of Blanding. For her talent, Shaeli played the guitar and sang Rocky Top by the Osborne brothers.
Second attendant Kaitlin Clark is a daughter of Rick and Rhonda Clark of Monticello. Kaitlin will attend Southern Utah University this fall and run track for SUU. During the competition, she performed a jazz dance solo to Oh My Goodness, choreographed by Averi Christansen
Third attendant: Kayla Frank is a daughter of Evangelyn and Fredrick Frank of Aneth. She presented to the judges a Native American hoop dance. This fall, Kayla will attend Utah State University – Eastern in Blanding and will pursue a dental hygiene degree.
