20th Annual San Juan ATV Safari goes from Wednesday through Saturday

The 20th Annual ATV Safari starts on Wednesday, September 14, and concludes on Saturday, September 17.
The annual Safari starts Wednesday afternoon with riders checking in from Noon to 4:00 pm at the Blanding Visitors Center. 
The Wednesday night ride begins at 5:00 pm with crews leaving from both the Blanding and Monticello Visitor Centers to meet up at a central location for dinner. Riders are reminded to bring warm clothes for the ride home.
The Safari kicks off in earnest on Thursday with riders choosing between 19 guided trail rides throughout San Juan County.
Among the trail offerings include Arch Canyon, Wooden Shoe, Shay Ridge and elsewhere.
Trails originate from both Blanding and Monticello and will return to their origin town each day, each ride is rated from easy to expert and includes the mileage.
Riders will meet each morning at 8 am, where they will be greeted by three experienced riders who are familiar with the trails that riders will tackle each day.
Following full-day rides on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday; the event concludes with the annual Safari Banquet at the San Juan Wellness Center in Blanding.
The dinner is included for those who register for the entire event, but those who don’t make the rides can attend the banquet for $20.
