With county assessor candidates set, the November general election races are finalized
The 2026 general election ballots in San Juan County are coming together about two months before the November election.
Among the seats up for election in 2026 include San Juan County Commission seats two and three, County Clerk/Auditor, Sheriff and Attorney
On the San Juan School Board, seats representing districts three and five are up for election. These elections are four year terms.
With the resignation of the county assessor, that position is also on the ballot now with a two year term.
Other elections in San Juan County include Utah House District 69. The district includes San Juan, Kane, Wayne, Garfield, Grand and parts of Emery counties.
Candidates for county assessor include Republican-appointed assessor Nate Pitts and Democrat party nominated candidate Will McFarland
Candidates for county commission district three includes Republican incumbent Jamie Harvey, and Democrat candidate Norman Lameman.
Candidates for county commission district two include incumbent Republican Silvia Stubbs with Democrat challenger Terry Whitehat.
Sheriff candidates include incumbent Republican Lehi Lacy, against Democrat candidate Avery Olsen.
Candidates for San Juan County Clerk/Auditor include Republican Incumbent Lyman Duncan and Democrat candidate Daylene Redhorse.
Current county attorney Republican Mitch Maughan is running unopposed.
In non-partisan school board races, incumbents are running unopposed including Colleen Benally representing district three and Donald Mose III representing district five.
In a portion of northern San Juan County, residents are members of the Grand County school district. Board elections for two districts which include parts of San Juan County also have two incumbents running unopposed, including Kathy Williams representing district one and Dave Bierschied representing district five.
In the Utah House District 69 race, Republican incumbent Logan Monson of Blanding will go against Democrat party candidate Tracie Yellowman Tso, also of San Juan County.
Federal elections include the US House of Representatives including district three, which includes San Juan County. The Republican candidate in the race is Celeste Malloy with Kent Udell as the Democrat party candidate. Cassie Easley is the Constitution party candidate, Michael Stoddard as the Libertarian party candidate, and Adonis Hooslyn and Ayden Scott running unaffiliated.
The general election is scheduled for November 3, 2026.
