Drug bust in Blanding confiscates $300,000 in meth, fentanyl, heroin

Law enforcement seized an estimated $300,000 worth of narcotics as part of a traffic stop in Blanding last Friday.
On February 13 around 6 p.m., a traffic stop in Blanding was initiated due to equipment violations, according to a statement from the San Juan County Sheriff’s department.
A K-9 drug sniffing dog, named Nyx, did a free-air sniff around the pick-up truck and located law enforcement officials to the odor of narcotics.
Afterwards, a probable cause search was conducted and led to the discovery of over 25 pounds of suspected illegal substances.
Among the findings are 25 pounds of suspected methamphetamine, an additional pound of suspected fentanyl powder, over 51 grams of suspected heroin, and over 10,000 suspected fentanyl pills.
The driver and passenger in the truck were arrested and transported to the San Juan County Jail.
