The declaration from the Lt. Governor’s office notes the flooding events of October 25,26 and november 1,2 have threatened lives, homes, businesses, as well as damaged infrastructure including roadways and utilities.
The declaration also notes that hazardous roadways have limited public travel and notes that the remote communities of the county require extensive distances between residential areas and polling and ballot drop box locations with the conditions making access to some of those locations extremely difficult or impossible in certain areas in the county.
