Paving begins on Hwy 191 in San Juan County

Work started September 15 on a road paving project from Dry Valley to Hatch Wash.
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) began construction on U.S. Highway 191 in San Juan County north of Monticello and south of La Sal, beginning Sunday September 15, 2024.
Workers will repave nearly seven miles of the highway from Dry Valley to Hatch Wash, between mileposts 88 and 96.
The contractor will work primarily at night between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. on Sunday nights through Friday morning.
Drivers should be alert for construction activities in the area, observe posted construction zone signs and speed limits, and allow extra travel time.
Construction is anticipated to end in November 2024.
The public is encouraged to visit the UDOT Traffic website or app at udottraffic.utah.gov for current condition updates on construction activities.
