Primary ballot set for June 25

After the state and county conventions, the ballots are set for the Primary election races.
In San Juan County, Doug Allen, Lori Maughan, and Erik Merlin Grover will seek the Republican nomination for the District 1 seat on the San Juan County Commission.  
Two Republicans are on the ballot for County Assessor, including William McFarland and Rick D. Meyer.
The final race in San Juan County on the Primary ballot is for County Treasurer between Glenis B Pearson and Vint DeGraw.
Logan Monson and Lynn Jackson are on the ballot for the Republican nomination for the District 69 seat in the Utah House of Representatives.
In statewide races, Phil Lyman and Spencer Cox will face off for the Governor’s spot on the Republican ballot, while Frank Demcy Mylar, Rachel Terry, and Derek Brown seek the Attorney General spot, and Ricky Hatch and Tina Cannon seek the State Auditor spot.
For seats in Washington DC, five Republican candidates will be on the primary ballot for the Utah seats in the Senate and for the District 3 seat in the House of Representatives.
Candidates for the House of Representatives advancing to the primary ballot include Mike Kennedy, Case Lawrence, Stewart Peay, JR Bird, and John Dougall.
Senate candidates on the primary ballot include Trent Staggs, John Curtis, Jason Walton, Brad Wilson and Brent Orrin Hatch.
Walton, an entrepreneur from Utah Valley, grew up in Monticello through his elementary school years.  He is the son of George and Trudy Walton and discussed the impact of his time in San Juan County on his development as a candidate.
