San Juan County Election Filings open now through January 8

Election filings are open for public offices in San Juan County.
Among the seats up for election in 2026 include San Juan County Commission seats two and three, County Clerk/Auditor, Sheriff and Attorney.
On the San Juan School Board seats representing district three and five are up for election. All elections are for four year terms.
In addition two Grand County School Board seats that include parts of northern San Juan County have elections including Grand County Districts one and five.
Candidate election filings opened on January 2 and conclude on Thursday, January 8.
Qualified candidates can register at the County Clerk/Auditor offices located at 117 South Main Street in Monticello. The office is open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Currently Commission District two is represented by Republican Silvia Stubbs with Commission District three represented by Republican Jamie Harvey.
Other county offices up for election are also held by Republicans including Attorney Mitch Maughan, Sheriff Lehi Lacy, and Clerk/Auditor Lyman Duncan.
Non-partisan school board seats are currently held by Colleen Benally representing district three and Donald Mose III representing district five.
Grand County School Board district one is represented by Kathy Williams while district five is represented by Dave Bierschied.
Other elections in San Juan County include Utah House District 69. The district includes San Juan, Kane, Wayne, Garfield, Grand and parts of Emery counties. The district is currently represented by Republican Logan Monson, a Blanding resident.
Federal elections include the US House of Representatives including district three which includes San Juan County. The seat is currently held by Republican Mike Kennedy.
