Sisters face charges for armed robbery

Two sisters are facing serious charges after a July 2 robbery at gunpoint yielded just 30 cans of beer.
The sisters, Chasity and Tara Light, age 27 and 29 respectively, are charged with first degree felony aggravated robbery and felony aggravated assault.
At midday on July 2, law enforcement officials state that two women entered the Sunrise Trading Post near Montezuma Creek for several minutes. Soon afterward, they re-entered the store with a rifle and demanded money from the cashier.
After struggling with the cashier over the gun, they fled with a case of beer. It is alleged that shots were fired in the parking lot toward the cashier, who had followed the pair into the parking lot. The cashier suffered a number of minor cuts and scrapes in the altercation.
One week later, on July 9, Chasity Light was arrested in Bluff by San Juan County Sheriff’s Deputies. Tara Light is still at large as of the press deadline.
