Top 20 bull rider visits Aneth Community School

Keyshawn Whitehorse, one of the top 20 bull riders in the world, made a surprise appearance at Aneth Community School on March 21 as part of March Literacy Month.  He read “Oh, The Places You Will Go” by Dr. Suess and shared an inspirational message to students about being a Warrior.
Students signed a warrior pledge that represents qualities to help them make good choices, listen to their parents and educators, and work hard towards a worthwhile goal.
Whitehorse was able to recite his clans and participate in Song and Dance with the students at the school.  Students were eager to meet Keyshawn and would not let him leave without an autograph, a hello, and more questions about professional bullriding.
There was plenty of excitement and a rare special treat to the students in Keyshawn’s grassroots community.  They thanked him for being a positive role model and clan relative to the Dineh Youth at Aneth Community School.
Whitehorse is having a great year as one of the elite riders in the Professional Bull Rider’s Association (PBR). He is currently second in the RPV Tour standings.  He stopped at Aneth after competing in a PBR event in Albuquerque, NM in the previous week and was headed to Glendale, AZ over the weekend.
