Tsinigine wins second straight state title

Monument Valley High School senior Tanner Tsinigine finished his high school wrestling career with his second-straight state championship Saturday, February 8 at the Sevier Valley Center in Richfield, UT.

He beat Milford’s Casek Hardy in the 160-pound championship match by fall. Tsinigine capped the year with an impressive 34-1 record. 

Caleb Lameman and Zyven Salt also competed for the Cougars at the 1A State Championships.

One Whitehorse wrestler finished in the top three at the event. Marcus Denny beat Rich’s Stetson Huffaker in the 195 pound third place match by fall. Rex Harvey, Noah Benally, and Michael Dee also wrestled hard for the Raiders.

Monument Valley finished seventh as a team with Whitehorse right behind in eighth. Congratulations to all the wrestlers and coaches on an excellent season.
