Head Coach Barkley Christensen: “When I think of Jonas I think of hard work and commitment. This kid has absolutely earned everything he got and I am so proud of him earning First Team All-State. Jonas did everything we asked of him and 100 times more to be a better football player. Jonas loves the game of football and played and practiced with that passion every single day. He was up at 5 a.m. every morning from December through November lifting and getting ready for the season. During the season Monday through Thursday you could find Jonas in the weight room at that same time getting stronger for every game.
“Jonas had played outside linebacker his whole career heading into his senior year. We knew we had to fill some holes in the middle and we thought of one kid who has worked so hard and put on some weight and we knew he would be able to transition there easily. We picked the right kid; Jonas had a huge season for us on defense and he was a team leader all year. Jonas was one of our leading tacklers this season with 89, and four of those were for a loss. Jonas was voted team captain and led this team by example. He is a great kid off the field and an absolute warrior on the field. Jonas is built by hard work and he is extremely deserving of this award. I can’t wait to see what he is able to accomplish in his future. Congratulations on First Team All-State, Jonas!”
