Head Coach Barkley Christensen: “After the 2024 season we had to replace two offensive linemen. We wanted to watch and see which players would work hard and take those spots. Gaige stepped up and worked hard in the weight room and on the field from last December all the way through the summer and earned our important Left Guard position.
“Gaige broke all-time lifting records for all sophomores this offseason and was one of the top lifters on our team in all three of our important lifts. In our offense, we rely on our guards a lot to pull and open up holes for our backs. Even as a sophomore, Gaige is one of the toughest, more physical lineman I have had the privilege to coach.
“Gaige helped open holes and provide protection for us to throw all season long. He helped our team set rushing records and brought his hard-nosed, physical mentality to every single practice. We would force him to wear a guardian cap each practice because of how hard he hit every single day he put the pads on. We are so glad he is coming back for us the next two years and I can’t wait to see what he is able to accomplish. Congratulations on being recognized with this award, Gaige! You earned it!”
