Head Coach Barkley Christensen: “Trey started for us last year as a sophomore, and he did nothing but continue to elevate his play this season. My favorite thing about Trey is that he is one of the kindest kids you will ever meet. He is a great friend and teammate to all on the team and he leads by example. Trey will never be a huge “Rah-Rah” guy. He is very low-key and chill, but he knows how to work hard and get the job done to a very high level.
“Linemen never get the credit they deserve. I consider offensive linemen to be the most selfless people on the planet. Their whole job is to line up in the trenches and do all the tough dirty work for someone else to score and get all the praise. Trey embodies the characteristics of an offensive lineman. He is selfless, tough, dependable, coachable, etc.
“Trey is a natural born competitor and helped our team break rushing records and average 54.4 points per game. He was obviously instrumental in us winning another state title. Congratulations on this award, Trey. We are all proud to have you on our team!”
