Head Coach Holly Walker: “Among the many remarkable students who make a lasting impact on their school community, Rosalie (Rose) Kartchner stands out as a true example of leadership, dedication, and compassion. This year, Rose earned the prestigious honor of Academic All-State for Cross Country, an achievement that reflects her exceptional ability to excel both in the classroom and in athletics.
“As cross country team captain Rose has led by example, setting a high standard for discipline, sportsmanship, and team unity. Known for her encouraging personality, she motivates others not with volume, but with genuine support and confidence in her teammates. Her calm leadership has helped shape a team culture where every runner, no matter their pace, feels valued and capable.
“Rose’s gifts as a leader extend far beyond the race course. A strong voice for her peers, she serves as Senior Class Representative in both Student Council and Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). Whether she is planning school activities, collaborating with faculty, or helping classmates feel included, Rose approaches each responsibility with professionalism and a sincere desire to make school a better place for everyone. Her dedication to scholarship and service is also reflected in her role as Co-President of the National Honor Society, where she helps coordinate service projects and inspire younger students to embrace integrity, academic excellence, and community involvement.
“What makes Rose even more remarkable than her list of accomplishments is the person she is every day. Encouraging, kind, thoughtful, hard-working, and dependable, Rose makes people feel supported and seen. She is the student others rely on – the one who steps up when help is needed, remembers the small things that matter, and lifts others with her positivity and compassion.
“Whether in the classroom, on the cross country course, or in her many leadership roles, Rose Kartchner has made a lasting difference. She has shown that true leadership is defined not only by titles and awards, but by the way a person treats others and the example they set.”
