All State - Liam Lacy 2A wrestling third place San Juan sophomore ~ 113 pounds ~ 39 wins-11 losses

Coach Art Adair: “Liam had a fantastic sophomore campaign. When you talk about San Juan wrestling, the name Lacy is bound to come up. Liam continues the proud tradition of Lacy wrestlers at San Juan High School set by his older brother, his father, his grandfather, and many other extended family members. Liam has always strived to be the best in everything he does. He finished the season with an outstanding varsity record of 39-11, an impressive accomplishment for a sophomore. Throughout the season, Liam was one of the Broncos’ top competitors at every tournament.
“He placed second at the divisional tournament at 113 pounds and battled back after a tough semifinal loss at the state tournament to finish third on the podium. Liam’s grit and tenacity showed every time he stepped on the mat. He is the kind of wrestler you can count on to give his best effort every time he competes.
“Liam recorded 30 wins by fall this season, tying him for third on the team in pins. Not only does he excel on the mat, but he also excels in the classroom as a high honors student. As a coach, Liam is the type of athlete you enjoy having around because of his personality and his ability to get along with everyone. Liam will be exciting to watch over the next couple of years. He has set his goals high and looks to climb even higher on the podium.”
