Bill Boyle inducted into UHSAA Circle of Fame

Bill Boyle was inducted into the Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA) Circle of Fame at the Utah State Wrestling Tournament on February 10.
Boyle, Editor of the San Juan Record, served on the UHSAA Board of Trustees for 12 years, including four years as president of the board.
The UHSAA says the Circle of Fame honors individuals who have contributed to their communities in high school activities. It is the highest honor the UHSAA bestows upon contributors.
Boyle’s nomination read in part:
A graduate of Monticello High School, and who later attended Snow College, Brigham Young University and Stanford University, Mr. Bill Boyle has spent his entire life serving the good people of Southeastern Utah.
He spent 12 years serving member schools and students as a member of the Utah High School Activities Association's Board of Trustees.
Immersed in the effort to keep a level playing field in all UHSAA activities, he was the first person in Association history to serve as President and Chair of the Board of Trustees for four consecutive years from 2012 to 2016.
He was instrumental in bringing unity to the members of the Board as well as developing strong relationships among the high schools across all classifications in Utah.
Bill writes: "I love high school activities and I am grateful for the solid foundation that high school activities builds in our youth. I have spent my lifetime watching and enjoying the full range of high school activities. From a star-struck young fan and an eager student to an anxious parent and an involved elected official, I have loved just about every minute of my journey."
In addition to the many years as an elected school board member for the San Juan School District, Bill has engaged himself in high school activities as a member of the media through both radio and print.
He has covered many teams and activities over the airwaves on Redrock92 and Stream Utah.Live and in the pages of the Monticello-based San Juan Record newspaper.
For his dedication and commitment to high school activities, and his love for the students who participate in them.
