Bronco boys golf team keeps steady pace in region matches

The San Juan High School boys golf team has played some solid golf through the first five official rounds of the season, including registering their best team score on August 12 with a 338 at the Meadowbrook Golf Course in Taylorsville.
Maks Perkins shot a season-best 8-over-par 80 in that round, followed by an 84 from Korver Perkins. Wyatt Ivins carded his best round of the season with a solid 86, and Mason Lyman rounded out the top four for the Broncos with a season-best 88.
On August 18 the boys headed to Fillmore to play the Pistol Rock Golf Course and came home with a team score of 343.
Korver Perkins led the way with an 8-over-par 80, and Andrew Moses shot a season-best 85. Wyatt Ivins carded an 88 for San Juan, and Maks Perkins scored 90.
This past Wednesday, August 26 the Broncos headed all the way over to Cedar City to play the Cedar Ridge Golf Course and shot 347 as a team.
Korver Perkins had his best round of the season to pace the team with a 7-under-par 79. Ryan Wilcox came in with an 85, also a season best. Mason Lyman shot 88 and Maks Perkins carded a 95.
The Broncos have consistently finished in fifth place among the seven Region 18 teams at each match. As a result, that’s where they sit in the Region 18 standings through the first five rounds of the season with an average team score of 347.19.
Beaver leads the region with a 296.68, South Sevier is second with a 319.23, Grand County is third with a 327.91, and Kanab is fourth with a 328.35.
Behind San Juan Enterprise sits in the sixth spot with a team average of 352.98 and Parowan rounds out the region standings in seventh with a 412.79.
Among all 18 of the 2A teams in the state of Utah, San Juan is right in the middle of the pack at ninth.
Individually for the Broncos, Korver Perkins leads with an 82.17 average adjusted score. Maks Perkins is close behind with an 88.25.
Mason Lyman is shooting 88.88 so far this season, Andrew Moses has a 90.53 average, and Ryan Wilcox is fifth on the team with a 92.06.
Wyatt Jones is shooting 93.21 in sixth, Boston Black as a 103.29 average, Kyler Steve a 106.21, Trace Bilbao a 107.74, Ender Lacy a 108.41, and Kalen Redd a 119.24.
The team is heading back to southwest Utah to take on Region 18 teams at the Dixie Red Hills Golf Course in St. George on Wednesday, September 2.
