Bronco golfers wrap up season at Region 18 Championship

The San Juan High School boys golf team finished their season at the Region 18 Championship at the Millsite Golf Course in Ferron on September 18.
Three Broncos competed in the event. Senior Baylor Nielson led the team with a career-best round of 83. Brandt Bingham shot his second-best career round with a 120 and Maks Perkins carded a 124.
San Juan played the Dixie Red Hills Golf Course in St. George on August 27 with Nielson shooting a 90 to lead the team. Perkins scored 97, Andrew Moses carded a 101, and Lachlan Lacy came in with a round of 114.
The team took on Region 18 foes at the Cove View Golf Course in Richfield on September 3. Nielson again led the way with a 93-stroke effort. Ryan Shumway shot a 113, Moses carded a 117, and Cruise Shumway scored 120.
In the final match of the regular season on September 10 the Broncos were in Cedar City playing the Cedar Ridge Golf Course. This time Maks Perkins beat Baylor Nielson 99-105. Cruise Shumway came in with a 113 and Boston Black carded a 120.
Not surprisingly, Baylor Nielson led the team in 2025 with an average gross score of 96.38. Andrew Moses was next in line with a 105.75 average.
Maks Perkins was third for San Juan this season with an average of 105.8. Cruise Shumway was fourth (120.0), Lander Hart fifth (122.0), Ryan Shumway sixth (123.43), and Lachlan Lacy seventh (124.0).
Boston Black had the eighth-best average score for the Broncos this season with a 126.0. Brandt Bingham scored 126.38 this year in ninth, Teagen Harris was tenth with a 128.5, and Declan Bradford averaged 139.25 strokes in 11th.
As a team San Juan was seventh in Region 18 and 19th in the 2A classification with an average of 430.02 strokes per round.
The Broncos are excited to continue getting on the golf course and improving their game. The team will return five of their top six golfers next season.
