Buckaroos fall to Bulldogs on gridiron

The Monticello Buckaroo football team fell to the Dove Creek Bulldogs by a score of 54-8 on September 27 in Monticello.
The Bulldogs, the #2-ranked eight-man team in Colorado, raced to a 24-0 lead after scoring on their first three possessions and holding the Buckaroos to two yards of total offense and three-and-outs on their first two possessions.
With three additional scores in the first half, the Bulldogs led 46-0 at halftime, setting up a running clock for the second half.
In the end, Bulldog quarterback Josh Kibel had a game for the ages, accounting for 44 points, five rushing touchdowns, one touchdown pass, and four two-point conversions.
The Buckaroos scored late in the game on a 20-yard run by Carter Rogers. Jackson Keyes completed a pass to Peyton Hatathley for a two-point conversion.
The Buckaroos host the St Joseph Jaybirds on October 4 in an important game.
