Canyon Christensen 1A Boys Golf second team Monticello Junior Eighth place at state (tie)

Head Coach Nathan Chamberlain: “Canyon dedicated much of the offseason hitting the simulators and traveling out of the area to improve his game. With two seasons behind him Canyon placed expectations on himself to improve his state tournament performances. His ball striking and length was an advantage. His season scoring average gave him the Region 19 Championship and led the team to another region championship.
“Canyon’s drive to improve throughout the season led to him play a lot of golf after practice was over. He and other players would play another nine holes after practiced ended. Canyon’s competitive desire led him to be an essential part of the boys team. Pushing others to improve and encouraging them to improve helped the team qualify for the second day of the tournament. Canyon finished the tournament tied for eighth place, giving him something to improve upon next year.”
