The San Juan High School boys golf team was represented very well in the 2023 2A Utah State Boys Golf Championship this past Wednesday and Thursday, October 4-5 at the Glendale Golf Course in Salt Lake City.
Though the boys did not qualify as a team, senior RJ Dalley competed as an individual and ended up finishing 39th overall in a field of 75 golfers.
Dalley shot a 20-over par 92 in round one on Wednesday, but cleaned it up nicely to shoot an 8-over par 80 on Thursday to finish 28-over with a two-day score of 172.
Prior to the state tournament the Bronco boys golfers played the Round Valley Golf Course in Morgan, UT on Tuesday, September 26 where they shot their best round of the season with a 383.
Dalley led with an 88-stroke round, Nash Jones and Wes Jones both got 96s, and Jett Johnson rounded out the top four with a 103.
The team finished the season ranked 13th among 18 2A teams with a 416-stroke average per round. They were fourth among five teams in Region 15 this season.
Congratulations to first-year head coach Lehi Lacy and the players on an excellent 2023 season of San Juan boys golf.
