“Seth’s First Team All-State selection is a testament to his performance on the field, and to the character and selflessness that defined his season and career at MHS. A dominant presence on the defensive line and the anchor of the offensive line at center, Seth proved invaluable in multiple roles. On defense, he consistently disrupted opposing offenses, finishing with 47 total tackles, including 12 solo stops. His quickness off the ball resulted in 12.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. As a defensive lineman, Seth’s effort and discipline made him a player offenses had to account for on every snap. Equally important was Seth’s impact on offense. As our center, he served as the anchor and director of the offensive line, responsible for making protection calls, calling our adjustments to blitzes, setting blocking schemes, and ensuring cohesion up front. His leadership and football IQ helped the offense operate smoothly and with confidence. The most remarkable and special part of Seth’s career as Monticello is the path he took to get here. Originally a wide receiver, Seth made the transition to center without hesitation when the team needed him most. His first game at center he had 20 minutes of practice. He embraced the change with enthusiasm, a team-first mindset, and a willingness to learn one of football’s most demanding positions. This honor reflects a player who embodies selflessness, versatility, and toughness. His season stands as an example of how putting the team first can lead to individual excellence. Seth is also academic all state, truly defining the term student-athlete.
