Head Coach Jens Nielson: “Kreed was outstanding for us this year. We knew we had a great pitcher coming in as freshmen but we didn’t know how good. We waited all season long for Kreed to kind of show his freshmen nerves, but it never really happened. He played with a maturity above his years, he didn’t get rattled, and just showed grit and passion for what he does.
“Kreed loves the game of baseball. He was a vocal leader as a freshman and he would regularly get the guys together to encourage and motivate them to be better and to step up. At least once every practice or game we would hear Kreed yell, ‘I love baseball!’ That’s exactly how he played. He loves the game and plays it with joy. He is coachable, tough, and determined.
“The thing that surprised us most was Kreed’s hitting ability. He was a tough out, he didn’t strike out a lot, he had a very high on-base percentage, and hit for average and power. We are excited for the upcoming years where we can watch Kreed just get better and better. Congratulations, Kreed. You deserve this recognition.”
