Head Coach Jens Nielson: “Nache Young was ‘Mr. Consistency’. You could always rely on Nache to make very few mistakes in the field. At the plate he didn’t strike out much, and he was good for at least one hit every game. Defensively he did what we asked him to do. We put him in some tough situations where he played positions he had very little experience in due to some injuries and other personnel not being available. He rose to the occasion and did an exceptional job.
“Nache was quiet with how he led. He led with how he played, and his teammates knew he wanted to win. Nache loves the game of baseball and put in a lot of work to become a great baseball player. I am proud of Nache and his hard work. He had a great season and was a huge part of why our team was so successful.
“It was fun to watch Nache and fun to see his passion. We will miss Nache not being a part of this baseball program, but know he will go on to do great things. Congratulations! Good luck, Nache, and good job!”
