Five Bronco Seniors participate in all-star football game

Five San Juan High School football players who were part of the Broncos’ run of three straight state championships got one last opportunity to showcase their skills this past Saturday, June 22 in the 2024 Senior Bowl All-Star Game at Snow College. Parker Snyder, Zack Conway, Keaton Ivins, Trace Bennett, and Taylor “Yummy” Black, who all recently graduated from San Juan High School, joined forces one last time to play with the South All-Stars in Ephraim. It was a battle for bragging rights among some of the best senior football players from the 2023 season in the Utah 1A, 2A, and 3A classifications. The South team came out on top 20-12 at Robert Stoddard Field at Terry Foote Stadium. Not only did the five Bronco players contribute greatly to the win, but most of the San Juan coaching staff was on hand and Barkley Christensen served as the head coach for the South All-Stars. The stat line for the South team won’t surprise Bronco fans. Running back Zack Conway collected 58 yards on seven carries and scored two touchdowns. Quarterback Parker Snyder ran for another score and hit Canyon View’s Trai Buhler for a two-point conversion as San Juan players accounted for all their team’s points. Coach Christensen said coaching the All-Star game was a blast. “It was fun to coach with our own coaching staff and to coach five of our players one last time. Best of all, we came away with the win over the North team,” he explained. “It was so fun seeing these kids play with guys who they have played against and watching them become great friends,” Christensen stated. “It was an amazing weekend coaching all of these players from different schools.” Bronco players and coaches who made the trip to Ephraim include: (left to right) Coach Baylr Eldredge, Coach Tyson Billsie, Coach Ricky Eldredge, Head Coach Barkley Christensen, Coach Bobby Bowring, Taylor Black, Zack Conway, Keaton Ivins, Trace Bennett, Coach Tad Barton, Parker Snyder, and Coach Jesse Grover.
