Girls soccer season comes to a close in state first round for San Juan Lady Broncos

The San Juan High School girls soccer season came to a close on Wednesday, October 16 with a 3-0 loss at #7 Beaver in the 2A first round.
The Lady Broncos entered the tournament as the #10 seed and were looking for an upset to advance to the state quarterfinals.
It was not to be, but with their 6-11 record this season San Juan earned their most wins in a season in program history. They were also 3-7 in Region 18 play this year.
Statistics are somewhat incomplete, but in the 16 games recorded on MaxPreps junior Brinley Jones led the team with ten goals. Freshman Jaynie McNaughtan and junior Evelyn McCullough were next in line with four goals apiece.
Sophomore Brittany Jensen netted three goals on the season; freshman Ari Adams had a couple; and sophomore Brooklyn Pincock, senior Macee Palmer, and sophomore Oaysis Nielson all scored one apiece.
Jensen was credited with three assists this season, McNaughtan had two, and McCullough got one. Sophomore goaltender Colee Crofts was solid for the Lady Broncos all year. She had 187 total saves for an average of 11.7 per game.
It was a season San Juan can be proud of, and one that hopefully is a building block that will lead to even more success in the future.
