Hideout Golf Course set to host Shootout and Amateur tournaments

It might get a little crowded at the Hideout this weekend. For the second straight year, the Monticello golf course will break tournament attendance records (or at least see the most players in recent memory) when it hosts the popular Hideout Shootout and Hideout Amateur.
Over 60 teams are set to play in the Shootout on Friday, July 26 in a two-man best ball format comprised of two flights. The shotgun start begins at 2 p.m.
At 9 a.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday, July 27-28, players will tee off the 36-hole Amateur tournament. Hideout Pro Tyler Ivins said he had to rent a few carts from the Conquistador Golf Course in Cortez, CO to accommodate a full field of approximately 120 golfers.
Ivins is thrilled the tournaments continue to grow and attract more players every year. Players this year will come from many miles away, including locations such as Utah County; Page, AZ; Flagstaff/Williams, AZ; St. George, UT; Grand Junction, CO; Farmington, NM; and Price, UT.
The “locals” from Moab and Cortez will be back this year too. Ivins explained that advertising is good, but the course continues to get much of its marketing by word of mouth – when people play the course, then bring others back with them when they return.
Ivins reported the Hideout is in excellent condition for the tournaments this weekend. He said he is hoping for good weather and just wants everyone to have a good time.
