Head Coach Jens Nielson: “Brandt was the other half of our Energy Duo with Remy Whatcott. Brandt played his best when he was in party mode. Before games he would lead the team in a dance party to get hyped up.
“Brandt is a player I am very proud of. He loves baseball and things did not always come natural for him. He put in some hard work to be the player he ended up being. He was determined, gritty, energetic, and one of the most enjoyable kids to coach.
“I don’t ever recall a time – even when it was tough – I heard Brandt complain about what was being asked or said. He had a respect for wanting to listen and get better. He did a great job and ended up having a great senior season.
“Brandt stayed positive in the playoffs despite having a knee injury just a few days before the BYU rounds. He was unsure if he would be able to play but maintained a positive attitude and was more than willing to lead from the bench if that was what was best for the team. Brandt, you will for sure be missed. Congratulations! Good luck in all you do. ‘Check Faymar’.
