Head Coach Jeff Hunt: “After the 300 meter final Kooper was devastated. A stumble on the last hurdle cost him a top-three finish. But if anything, Kooper is tenacious and loves to win. He was on the 4x100 relay team that had already finished second and he looked determined to get back on the podium for the 4x400.
“One thing that Kooper had learned during cross country was to win the small races within the race and that is what he was determined to do in the state track meet. In the end he kept it close enough for Jaeden to have a shot to pull off the upset of a heavily-favored Panguitch team, and they almost did.”
