Lady Bronco volleyball team keeps rolling against Miyamura

The San Juan High School volleyball team kept their strong start rolling with their fifth straight win on Thursday, August 28 against Miyamura, NM. The Lady Broncos haven’t lost a set in those last five games.
On Thursday they crushed the Lady Patriots 25-13, 25-13, and 25-16, improving to 7-1 on the season. Morgann McPherson led the offensive attack with 11 kills. Faith Flannery added six, and Adi Ivins tallied four.
Keegan Palmer served 94.4 percent in the win and aced Miyamura five times. Keezie Flannery had four aces while Averie Gilson and Morgann McPherson had three each.
Havoc Laws and Keezie Flannery blocked two hits apiece. Gilson and McPherson had 11 digs each. Keegan Palmer got seven digs and Adi Ivins collected six.
As she usually is, Keezie Flannery was San Juan’s top ball handler, assisting on 22 kills in the win. McPherson had 18 serve receptions, Adi Ivins had seven, and Gilson three.
Flannery’s 33 aces this season rank first among Utah players across all six classifications and her 223 assists rank eighth. All the players ranked above her in assists have played more sets than she has.
The Lady Broncos will open Region 18 play at home this week against two tough opponents – the Enterprise Lady Wolves on Thursday, September 4 and the Beaver Lady Beavers on Friday, September 5.
