Lady Broncos build early momentum with victories in first two region games of season

The San Juan High School volleyball team continued to establish early-season momentum with a strong road trip that produced wins over Enterprise and Parowan in the first two region matches of the season.
The Lady Broncos defeated Enterprise in straight sets on Friday, August 21 then took four sets to down Parowan on the way back home on Saturday, August 22.
Faith Flannery led the offensive attack against Enterprise with 19 kills. Kyliea Taylor had a great night also with ten kills, while Olivia Nielson collected a very impressive 34 assists.
Adi Ivins served up three aces for San Juan, Aspyn Ivins got two, and Sadie Palmer had two. Havoc Laws registered three blocks, while Aspyn Ivins registered 14 digs and Adi Ivins and Olivia Nielson got 13 apiece.
The next day against Parowan the Lady Broncos overcame a set-two loss to dominate the Lady Rams. Flannery again led the team with 18 kills. Kyliea Taylor had nine. Havoc Laws and Emeri Black got six each.
Aspyn Ivins led with five aces on the day, Adi Ivins served four, and Sadie Palmer and Kyliea Taylor got three apiece.
Faith Flannery and Sloane Middleton both collected nine digs each. Three San Juan players had two blocks apiece: Taya Chamberlain, Havoc Laws, and Emri Black.
The Lady Broncos are 6-4 on the season and 2-0 in Region 18 play. They’ll continue their steady pace with a couple more region games this week, at home this time.
On Friday, August 28 San Juan will host Beaver, then on Saturday, August 29 they welcome South Sevier to Blanding.
