It has been a challenging season for the Whitehorse High School volleyball team. They were 1-11 on the season heading into the final week of the regular season, ranked approximately 18th in the 1A RPI standings.
The Lady Raiders’ only win of the season came against Pinnacle Academy in a Region 19 showdown on September 9.
Whitehorse closed out their regular season at home on Tuesday, October 17 also against Pinnacle. That match was played after the San Juan Record print deadline, but it’s likely the Lady Raiders will finish with a 2-11 overall record.
They’ll have to travel in the first round of the 1A state tournament this Saturday, October 21 to face a higher-seeded team.
If they can rise victorious in that match they’ll face a top-three opponent in the second round October 27 at Utah Valley University.
The final 1A RPI standings and state tournament brackets are set to be released on Wednesday, October 18 by the Utah High School Activities Association.
