Monticello golf teams win Region 19 titles

The Monticello girls and boys golf teams have dominated Region 19 all season long and on Monday, May 5 they made it official as both teams won their region championship matches at the Green River State Park Golf Course.
It was the fifth straight region title for the girls and fourth straight for the boys team. Alise Lewis led the girls with an 88, LE Olson shot a 92, Cambree Chamberlain carded a 98, and Lilli Burton rounded out the top four with a 105.
Traken Lee paced the boys with a round of 81, Canyon Christensen shot an 87, Kooper Nielson scored 92, and Jackson Keyes carded a 93.
The girls team is ranked first among 1A teams headed into the state tournament May 12-14 at the Mountain View Golf Course in West Jordan. The boys are ranked third.
