Mountain bikers conquer Abajo Mountains in Enduro

This past weekend the Abajo Enduro, hosted by Roam Industry, returned for its 12th annual race, drawing riders from across the Southwest for two days of high-desert mountain biking.
With dry trail conditions, this year’s three-stage race pushed competitors through especially technical terrain in the Abajos including Shay Ridge, Robertson Pasture, and Spring Creek trails.
Top finishers in the men’s division included Lucas Eldred (UT), Joseph Simmons (AZ), and Evan Degray (UT).
In the women’s division, Olivia Salter (CO), Skye Salgenek (AZ), and Heather Lauritzen (CO) took the podium.
A special thanks to local sponsors High Desert Cafe, Doug’s BBQ, Redd’s Ace Hardware, Bluff Dwellings, Wild Expeditions, and Moab Cyclery along with Osprey Packs, Tec Gnar, Colby Atkinson Photography, and Gripit Sports.
Special recognition goes to the Monticello High School cross country team for their help with race timing.
The Enduro would not be possible without the ongoing local support of these groups and the community.
