Head Coach Josh Keyes: “Easton Young finished off an amazing career at MHS. He averaged 15 points per game while dishing out four assists and four steals in his final campaign. However, it’s not Easton’s numbers that make him an invaluable asset to his team, but his work ethic and tenacity on and off the court. In practice, Easton competed from the moment he tied his shoes until that last whistle. He would encourage his teammates, sometimes verbally, but mostly by his example and intensity.
“Easton was coachable from the beginning and his improvement and success can be credited to his willingness to learn and work. He was asked as a freshman to learn the nuance of the point guard position, a job he mastered by his final game. He was the captain on the court and a threat to score from anywhere. He made quite a few big shots in his career, but none were more important than his last-minute three to defeat Water Canyon in the state tournament. It’s a shot many MHS fans will remember for a long time. Easton, like all great athletes, wanted the ball in his hands when it mattered and he did not disappoint.”

Head Coach Jeff Johnson: “Anthony is one of the most versatile basketball players to come through San Juan High School. He led us in nearly every statistical category this year: points, rebounds, assists, and steals. Along with that he can guard every position 1-5 and do it very well. The second half of the year and through region play he really stepped up and became our go-to scorer. We relied heavily on him to provide offense for us. He is as good a young man as he is a basketball player and is going to do great things in his senior year."
