San Juan boys wrestling team posts strong showing at Iron Town Duels

The San Juan boys wrestling team spent an extended weekend in Cedar City, competing from Thursday through Saturday against strong competition.
Action began Thursday as the Broncos faced a tough Canyon View squad, falling 61-18. Victories for San Juan came from Chance Laws, River Von Haden, and Thomas Hardin, all winning by fall.
The Broncos then moved into the Iron Town Duels. In their opening dual, San Juan earned a 51-27 victory over Coronado.
Grady Lacy, Miken Keith, and Adney Singer all won by fall, while River Von Haden earned a 4-0 decision. Liam Lacy, Ender Lacy, Koyer Johnson, and Cian Mark picked up forfeits.
San Juan followed with another 51-27 win over Team Basic. Wins by fall were recorded by Liam Lacy, Grady Lacy, Miken Keith, Jayce Raisor, River Von Haden, and Thomas Hardin. Koyer Johnson added a 5-0 decision, while Chance Laws and Adney Singer earned forfeits.
The Broncos then dropped a hard-fought dual to Spanish Fork, 52-24. Koyer Johnson earned a 9-6 decision, Grady Lacy won by fall, and Miken Keith picked up a 7-1 decision. Chance Laws and Thomas Hardin both secured wins by fall.
San Juan rebounded with a 39-33 victory over Milford. Kage Johnson, Liam Lacy, and Grady Lacy all won by fall, while Miken Keith earned an 8-6 decision. River Von Haden and Adney Singer added forfeits.
The Broncos dominated Parowan, winning 63-12. Victories by fall came from Liam Lacy, Koyer Johnson, Miken Keith, Chance Laws, River Von Haden, Adney Singer, and Cian Mark.
Thomas Hardin earned a close 4-2 decision, while Grady Lacy, Ender Lacy, and Jayce Raisor won by forfeit.
San Juan then fell to Pine View, 45-36. Liam Lacy, Grady Lacy, Koyer Johnson, and River Von Haden earned wins by fall, with Ender Lacy and Thomas Hardin picking up forfeits.
The Broncos answered with a 53-29 win over Hurricane. Wins by fall were recorded by Miken Keith, River Von Haden, Thomas Hardin, Adney Singer, Liam Lacy, and Koyer Johnson. Chance Laws earned a 17-1 technical fall, while Jayce Raisor and Grady Lacy added forfeits.
In one of the tightest duals of the weekend, San Juan narrowly fell to Richfield, 41-40. Chance Laws, River Von Haden, Cian Mark, Grady Lacy, and Miken Keith all earned falls. Thomas Hardin posted a 9-0 major decision, and Kage Johnson picked up a forfeit.
San Juan then defeated Shadow Ridge, 42-34. Jayce Raisor won by 9-2 decision, River Von Haden earned a 13-8 decision, and Thomas Hardin, Grady Lacy, and Miken Keith all won by fall. Chance Laws, Liam Lacy, and Adney Singer added forfeits.
The Broncos closed the tournament with a 54-24 victory over Sierra Vista. River Von Haden, Liam Lacy, Grady Lacy, Koyer Johnson, Miken Keith, and Chance Laws all won by fall.
Thomas Hardin won by medical forfeit, while Ender Lacy and Jayce Raisor picked up forfeits. San Juan finished third in Pool B, behind Spanish Fork and Richfield.
Individually, the Broncos were led by Grady Lacy, who went 8-0 on the weekend. Other standout performances included Miken Keith (9-1), River Von Haden (8-1), Thomas Hardin (7-2), and Liam Lacy (6-2).
The Broncos will travel to Moab on Wednesday, January 14 to face the Grand County Red Devils before returning home for Senior Night on Thursday, January 15 with Montezuma-Cortez coming to town.
San Juan will then compete at the North Sevier Tournament in Salina on Friday and Saturday, January 16-17.
