San Juan cross country team opens season

The San Juan High School cross country teams opened their season with a trip to Park City for the Park City Twilight Cross Country race on August 14.
The Bronco boys finished fifth overall, well ahead of the other 2A teams in the race.
Leading the way for the was junior Platte Lyman who finished 15th overall with a time of 17:11. Not too far behind was teammate Rosendo Martine in 21st place with a time of 17:34.
Jack Kartchner, Keegan McCullough, and Jeraden Hurst rounded out varsity scorers, finishing 33rd, 36th, and 41st overall. All finished with a sub-18:30 5K time.
The Lady Broncos were led by junior Sincere Nez who finished 20th overall with a time of 21:11. Ada Lyman finished 43rd with a time of 22:19. Brinley Jones, Harmony Oshley, and Rose Kartchner rounded out the varsity scorers for San Juan finishing 80th, 82nd, and 83rd overall. The team took 11th.
San Juan runs next on Saturday, August 23 in Dolores, Colorado.
